We have been traveling a ton this offseason. Yes, we take the kids. No it doesn’t really feel like a vacation. If we’re being honest, traveling with kids is COMPLICATED. Any routine you have ever established is thrown out the window, sleep is often cut short, and there are just SO MANY bags. All that being said, we are so grateful we get the opportunity to take our kids with us and to let them experience so many different places, even if they might not remember. We choose to pack up our family and travel each offseason because we are here for the memories and moments.

Sorry, I got off on a tangent.
After a ton of room service, restaurant carry out, and one too many after- dinner ice cream cones, I crave something healthy. I usually start with this smoothie. I make that first trip to the grocery store, grab all the ingredients, and this is serve this with lunch.
Post- Vacation Detox Smoothie
Prep
Total
The perfect smoothie to help you get back on track after a weekend of indulgence. Full of greens, vitamins, and antioxidants-- this will have you feeling great in no time!
Ingredients
- 2 C Spinach or power greens
- 1 C Coconut Water
- 1 Acai Packet
- 1 frozen banana
- handful of frozen mango chunks
- handful of frozen strawberries
- 1/3 C frozen mixed berries (optional)
- 1/2 C Kefir or greek yogurt (I used coconut chia Kefir)
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp agave nectar
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Toss all the ingredients in a blender and blend!
This smoothie is great way to rehydrate and reenergize after time spent on the road. I try to stuff as many greens as possible in the smoothie because I don’t eat as many healthy leafy greens while on vacation. If you are suffering from the sniffles or a cold upon your return, substitute the coconut water for some orange juice; just omit the agave nectar as the juice is sweet enough.
I also have a ‘Reset’ Salad that I whip up, but that’s for another day!
